State of the Storm

Last Updated 2021-03-28

Dear Storm Families,

2020 was a year no one expected, challenging Storm families in many ways. Thankfully we're now at a point where we're all looking forward to a return to normal and a return to soccer. As we return to play many new considerations have had to be faced.

Given the impact on youth sports across the nation we felt, as part of Storm's mission for high quality, low-cost club soccer, that it is important to make it as easy as possible for our youth to have access to high-quality club soccer.

It's this commitment that still sees Storm FC as the most affordable club program in the region while still maintaining competitive teams. It's also this commitment that has us making changes to our tryout format this season.

Return to Play

Four Storm FC teams have returned to play and we're now gearing up for the rest of our teams. The B 2005, B 2006, G 2007, and Girls HS teams have formed for the Spring season. Our remaining teams will be holding open sessions to form Fall 2021 - Spring 2022 teams which will begin practicing late Spring/Summer.

Open Practices, Free Clinics, and High School Academy

Instead of traditional tryouts, this Spring, Storm FC is holding open practices, free clinics, and a High School academy. We feel this format will offer the most access, for as many families, to come see what Storm FC has to offer.

Open Practices

If your player is interested in playing for one of our currently practicing teams (Boys 2005 & 2006, Girls 2007, and High School), they are holding open practices. Contact us by emailing info@stormfc.org and we will connect you with the coach.

Free Spring Youth Soccer Clinics

This spring we are offering a free six-week youth soccer clinic for boys and girls birth years 2008 to 2011. This clinic will allow players to practice their first touch, learn about our program and coaching philosophy, and tryout for Storm teams.

High School Academy

For our older athletes entering or in High School, we are holding a low-cost academy this Spring. We will be bringing in a coach from outside of Storm to bring our more advanced players a new look and help hone them for return to play. This academy is open to all players, whether they are currently rostered with Storm or not.
